Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American television chef and host. She was also an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network star with her trademark spikey blonde hair and bubbly personality, reveals simple to learn techniques and eliminates intimidation of restaurants dishes in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the city's most prestigious eateries, been studying Italian food, its culture and traditions and has competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and eating in her early years. She pursued her love of food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I loved every minute that I was a student in The Culinary Institute of America she says. I couldn't seem to get enough pleasure from it. After graduation, chef Burrell went on to spend one period of time in Italy taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. In her time in Italy she came to be aware of the philosophy behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that has had a profound impact on her culinary point of view. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children living with obstacles and is also an Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she is an advocate for children with diabetes and awareness. She travels frequently around the country in her role as a mentor as well as a an invited speaker, where she talks about her career and love of cooking. Anne often has mentioned throughout her professional career she is incredibly fortunate to be able communicate with people what is essential to her.
